Free HubSpot Audit: Count Your Contact Gaps From a CSV

Audit your HubSpot contacts from a CSV export: missing LinkedIn URLs, emails and owners, inactive records, likely duplicates. Your file is never uploaded.

Drop your export. Read five counts.

Export your contacts from HubSpot and drop the CSV here. No account needed.

HubSpot contact audit

Your file stays in this browser. It is never uploaded.

-contacts with no LinkedIn URL
-contacts in the file
-no email
-no owner
-no activity in the last 180 days, or none at all
-likely duplicates (same email, or same name and company)

How to export your contacts from HubSpot

  1. In HubSpot, go to CRM, then Contacts, and open the All contacts view.
  2. In the top right of the table, click Export.
  3. Choose CSV as the file format. Column headers in English let the audit find the columns by itself.
  4. HubSpot exports only the columns of your view by default. Click Customize and choose All properties on records, so the file includes LinkedIn URL (or the property your team uses), Email, Contact owner and Last Activity Date.

HubSpot emails you a download link. A CSV over 2 MB arrives zipped: unzip it before you drop it here. You need Export permission in HubSpot. Steps from HubSpot's export guide, read on November 4, 2026.

What each count costs you, and the first fix.

CountWhy it costs youFirst fix
No LinkedIn URLA rep cannot go from the record to the person, and the record gets lost when the person changes jobs.Fill it for active deals first, then for contacts with an owner.
No emailThe contact cannot enter a sequence or a marketing email.Decide if the record is worth enriching. If nobody works it, archive it.
No ownerNobody follows up.Assign them with a workflow or a bulk edit, then find which source creates them.
InactiveOld records blur your reports. On Marketing Hub, those set as marketing contacts also count toward your bill.Filter them in HubSpot on Last Activity Date. Keep customers and open deals. Set the rest to non-marketing or delete them.
Likely duplicatesTwo reps can work the same person without knowing it.Merge the pairs you confirm in HubSpot's duplicates tool (Professional or Enterprise).

This audits contacts, not your whole portal.

Only the contact rows of your file. It does not look at deals, pipelines, properties, lists, workflows, forms or user permissions, and it cannot tell if a field is true: an email can be filled and out of date. For the rest of the portal, use the HubSpot audit checklist, area by area.

The day a contact changes jobs, the LinkedIn URL still finds them.

Your reps prospect on LinkedIn. Whether they see that a person is already in HubSpot depends on what the contact stores.

Hublead shows your CRM on each LinkedIn profile. Its Link contact button attaches a profile to the existing HubSpot record and writes the LinkedIn URL onto it, so you fill the gap while prospecting instead of in a cleanup project.

The free plan shows your CRM on LinkedIn. Creating contacts and logging conversations start with Professional, and every paid plan has a free trial: try Hublead for free.

Before you go further

Is my file uploaded anywhere?

No. The file is read by your browser and is not sent to Hublead or anyone else. We record that the tool was used, never what the file contains. The results show counts only, never a contact. Session recordings on this page do not show what the tool displays.

Is this a full HubSpot portal audit?

No. It audits contact records only. A portal audit also covers deals and pipelines, properties, lists and workflows, forms, integrations, users and permissions. Our HubSpot audit checklist goes through them in order.

Which columns does it need?

LinkedIn URL, Email, Contact owner, Last Activity Date, First Name, Last Name and Company Name. It works with fewer: what is missing shows as Not checked, and you can point each check at another column.

How are duplicates counted?

A contact counts as a likely duplicate when an earlier row has the same email, or the same first name, last name and company. Each extra row counts once. It is an estimate, and the page names no one: two different people can share a name and a company.

Does it work with a Salesforce export?

It works with any CSV that has a header row. Pick the columns yourself under "Check the columns we picked".
