Add LinkedIn leads to a Salesforce Campaign from the profile, with Hublead
Create a Salesforce Campaign for your LinkedIn outreach, add each prospect from the Hublead panel on LinkedIn and follow every member's status.
- WhenYou open a prospect on LinkedInCreate as Lead or Contact
- ThenAdd to the CampaignFrom the Hublead panel
- ThenUpdate the Member StatusContacted, Replied, Meeting booked
What you get
- One Salesforce Campaign per LinkedIn push
- Each prospect added from the profile you have open, without switching to Salesforce
- A member list with a status per person, and a report of the whole push
Prerequisites
- Hublead connected to Salesforce. A Salesforce admin installs Hublead in the org once, then each rep clicks Connect Salesforce in the extension
- Permission to create Campaigns: the Marketing User box ticked on your Salesforce user (an admin sets it in Setup → Users)
Problem
Your LinkedIn outreach runs outside Salesforce. Nobody can list who was contacted in the last push, marketing does not see it, and the Leads it creates look like any other Lead. On Salesforce, the place for a push like this is a Campaign.
-
1. Create the Campaign
Open the App Launcher → Campaigns → New. Give it a name your team will recognize on LinkedIn, for example LinkedIn outbound, Q4, set the Status to In Progress, tick Active and save.
-
2. Set the member statuses
On the Campaign, open the Related tab and the Campaign Member Statuses list. Add the steps of your outreach, for example Contacted, Replied and Meeting booked, tick Responded on Replied and Meeting booked, and set Contacted as the default.
-
3. Open a prospect on LinkedIn
Open the profile on LinkedIn or Sales Navigator. Hublead looks for the person in your Contacts and Leads. If they are new, click Create as Lead or Create as Contact: the record and its Account are filled from the profile. If you already have them under another name, use Link Record instead of creating a duplicate.
-
4. Add them to the Campaign
In the Hublead panel next to the profile, click Add to Campaign and pick the Campaign you created. In the same panel you can set the Lead Status, change the owner and write a note after the call, without opening Salesforce.
-
5. Work the Campaign in Salesforce
On the Campaign, Campaign Members lists every Lead and Contact you added. Update each Member Status as the conversation moves. For the whole push, go to Reports → New Report, pick Campaigns with Campaign Members and group by Member Status.
Result
Each LinkedIn push now has a home in Salesforce: who was added and where each person stands. Marketing sees the work, and the Leads it created stay tied to the push that found them.
Stop copy-pasting LinkedIn into Salesforce
Create the Lead or Contact and its Account from the profile, and log the conversation as Tasks, without leaving LinkedIn.
Before you launch the Campaign
Should I create the person as a Lead or a Contact?
Your call, on the profile. Leads and Contacts can both be Campaign members in Salesforce. Hublead checks both before it writes anything.
Does adding someone to the Campaign send them anything?
No. The Campaign groups the people of your LinkedIn push in Salesforce. Messages are still written by the rep on LinkedIn.
Can I add a whole Sales Navigator list at once?
Not on Salesforce today. The bulk export from Sales Navigator works with HubSpot. On Salesforce, you add people one profile at a time.
Why can't I create a Campaign?
Your Salesforce user needs the Marketing User box ticked. Ask your admin to tick it in Setup → Users.
