Report LinkedIn activity per rep, per week, in Salesforce with Hublead
Build a Salesforce report that counts, rep by rep and week by week, the LinkedIn Tasks Hublead logs from synced conversations.
- WhenA LinkedIn message is syncedLogged as a Completed Task
- ThenGroup by rep and by weekThe Due Date is the LinkedIn date
- ThenAdd the chart to the dashboardNext to calls and emails
What you get
- A Salesforce report of the LinkedIn messages each rep logged, week by week
- A chart for the sales dashboard, next to calls and emails
- A weekly number to coach on, built from data your reps already log
Prerequisites
- Hublead connected to Salesforce. A Salesforce admin installs Hublead in the org once, then each rep clicks Connect Salesforce in the extension
- Reps who sync their conversations: a conversation syncs when the rep opens it on LinkedIn, automatically if auto-sync is on, or with the Sync messages button
- Permission to create and save reports in Salesforce
Problem
Your reps spend hours a week in LinkedIn conversations, and none of it shows in Salesforce reports. Activity dashboards count calls and emails, so the reps who sell on LinkedIn look idle and you coach on half the picture.
-
1. Open one synced message in Salesforce
Open a Lead or Contact whose LinkedIn conversation was synced and find it in the activity timeline. Hublead logs synced LinkedIn messages as Tasks with the status Completed, and puts the original LinkedIn date in the Task Due Date. Open one of those Tasks and copy its Subject: it is the filter that keeps only the Tasks Hublead created. Then check that Assigned To on that Task is the rep who had the conversation. If every Task shows the same user, group by Created By in step 4 instead.
-
2. Create a Tasks and Events report
Go to Reports → New Report, pick the report type Tasks and Events and click Start Report.
-
3. Keep only the LinkedIn messages
In the Filters panel, set:
- Show Me: All activities
- Date: Due Date, range Last 90 Days
- A new filter Subject contains the Subject you copied in step 1
- A new filter Status equals Completed
-
4. Group by rep and by week
Under Group Rows, add Assigned. Under Group Columns, add Due Date, open its menu and choose Group Date By → Calendar Week. Each cell now counts the LinkedIn Tasks of one rep in one week. Because the Due Date is the LinkedIn date, a conversation synced on Friday still counts in the week its messages were sent.
Result
LinkedIn work now shows up in Salesforce reporting. You see who prospects on LinkedIn every week and who stopped, and you coach on the real activity instead of guessing.
Stop copy-pasting LinkedIn into Salesforce
Create the Lead or Contact and its Account from the profile, and log the conversation as Tasks, without leaving LinkedIn.
Before you build the report
Why group by Due Date and not by Completed Date?
Hublead writes the date the LinkedIn message was sent in the Due Date. Completed Date is read-only in Salesforce and Hublead does not set it, so it does not tell you when the message was sent.
Does the report count LinkedIn invitations?
No. Invitations and InMails are not tracked on Salesforce today. The report counts the messages of synced conversations.
Why is a rep at zero when they were active on LinkedIn?
A conversation reaches Salesforce only once the rep opens it on LinkedIn, with auto-sync or the Sync messages button. A conversation the rep never opened is not in the report yet.
